If you’re into mobile gaming and looking for ways to enhance your experience, playing FIFA Mobile on this Uperfect monitor, or just a larger screen can be a total game-changer. In this review, I explored how well different portable monitors work with FC Mobile on the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and FIFA 25 on the ASUS ROG Ally. Here’s what I found.

1. Kicking Things Off – FIFA Mobile + S21 Ultra + UPERFECT Touchscreen Monitor

I started with my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra paired with the UPERFECT Utouch G16 portable touchscreen monitor, a display originally designed with the Steam Deck in mind. What makes this setup shine is how simple and sleek it is, here are the features it includes:

  • Built-in battery: No need for extra power cables cluttering your setup.
  • Single USB-C cable connection: Quick and clean, works well when fully charged.
  • Touchscreen support: Makes the experience feel like an extension of your phone.

Initially, I tried using Samsung DeX, which transforms your phone into a desktop-like interface. While DeX looks great and does a solid job organizing your apps, I quickly noticed that FIFA Mobile didn’t scale properly—the aspect ratio was off, and some touch functions became clunky, especially without a mouse or trackpad.

Switching off DeX and using straight screen mirroring from the phone gave a much better result. The resolution matched perfectly, touch input worked fluidly, and suddenly, FIFA Mobile felt like a full-blown console game. If you want to use your phone like a PC the DeX is miles better than just screen mirroring, but I found that the simplicity of just mirroring my phone to the monitor worked better for FC mobile.

2. Switching Gears – FIFA 25 on ASUS ROG Ally + UPERFECT Monitor

Next up, I connected the ASUS ROG Ally to the same UPERFECT monitor. I just wanted to see how it differentiates from FC mobile and if I could notice much improvement. Here’s what I liked about using this combo:

  • The touchscreen of the Uperfect monitor made navigating through FIFA 25’s menus a breeze.
  • The monitor’s 1080p resolution really brought the visuals to life, but I couldn’t tell much difference from using FC mobile.
  • And again, the wire-free setup thanks to the built-in battery kept things super portable but going from the 7″ screen on the Ally to the 15.6″ on the Uperfect Monitor wasn’t as impressive as going from my phone to the monitor.

If you’re gaming on the go using a handheld gaming device like the Steam Deck or older model Asus Ally, or just want a bigger screen experience without committing to a full desktop setup, this is an awesome option. But with newer handhelds surpassing the 8″ screen size, then I’m not sure if it would be worth it.

3. Budget Play – FIFA Mobile + S21 Ultra + KYY Portable Monitor

To round things out, I tested a more budget-friendly monitor—the KYY portable display. This one doesn’t have a built-in battery or touchscreen, so it does come with a few trade-offs. You can find similar models without all the functionality of the Uperfect monitors for much lower prices. But here’s how they usually look:

  • More cables required: You’ll need to plug in external power.
  • No touchscreen: So if you’re using Samsung DeX, you’ll likely need a mouse to navigate properly.

But here’s the thing—it still looks fantastic. FIFA Mobile ran smoothly, the visuals were sharp, and even without the bells and whistles, it added a nice sense of immersion. I was really impressed with the gameplay, going from my Samsung S21 Ultra to the 15.6″ display felt a big improvement and almost feels like playing on a console. If you’re just starting out or want a cheap way to expand your mobile gaming setup, this is a solid pick.

Final Whistle: Which Setup Wins?

Each combo has its strengths:

  • UPERFECT Monitor + S21 Ultra (Without DeX): Clean, immersive, and portable with full touchscreen support.
  • UPERFECT + ASUS Ally: Ideal for high-end mobile/PC hybrid gaming like FIFA 25.
  • KYY Monitor + S21 Ultra: Budget-friendly and great visuals, though less convenient without touchscreen or internal power.

No matter which setup you go with, playing mobile games on a portable monitor seriously levels up the experience, making it more dynamic and immersive without the need for a full gaming console or PC.
