If you have ever watched Darren “IShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. stream, you know two things: he shouts loud, and he moves fast. But while his room looks like a true gamers den filled with FIFA packs and empty bottles, the machine powering his stream is actually one of the most powerful computers money can buy.
Unlike tech YouTubers who want a “clean” look, Speed needs raw durability. He needs a setup that can handle 12-hour streams, competitive gaming, and the occasional rage-quit smash.
Here is the complete breakdown of IShowSpeed’s gaming setup for 2026.
- Streamer's Proceessor: Intel Core i9-14900K Desktop Processor "This 24-core powerhouse handles the intense multitasking of a top-tier stream easily. It includes integrated graphics, which offers a critical backup for troubleshooting and additional encoding power."
- The GPU: ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 White OC Edition "This card delivers the excellent frame rates for 4K gaming and streaming simultaneously, all wrapped in a stunning white chassis that serves as the centerpiece of a show-stopping PC build."
- The Casing: Lian Li O11 Vision Compact White "The ultimate 'flex' case. With three sides of seamless glass and no support pillar in the corner, it creates a fish-tank effect that makes your PC components look like they are floating."
- The Streamer's Chair: Secretlab Titan Evo Gaming Chair (Black3 SoftWeave) "Speed uses the 'The Flash' special edition, but this model is similar without the graphics. While Speed chooses the leatherette version with the red lightning bolt for branding, this standard 'SoftWeave' model is often preferred by gamers for its superior breathability."
- The Display: HP OMEN 27q QHD 165Hz Gaming Monitor "This monitor captures high frames with a sharp 1440p resolution and a fluid 165Hz refresh rate. It delivers the 'snap' responsiveness needed for competitive games."
- The headset: HyperX Cloud II Wireless Gaming Headset "Possibly the only headset durable enough to survive IShowSpeed. Famous for its tough aluminum frame and legendary comfort."
- The High-Octane Mic: LEWITT LCT 240 Pro Large Diaphragm Condenser Mic "While most streamers use dynamic mics to hide noise, Speed uses this high-performance condenser. Which is famous for its ability to handle extremely loud volumes (High SPL) without breaking, giving his streams that signature 'crisp but chaotic' audio quality."
- Mission Control: Elgato Stream Deck XL: Advanced Studio Controller "The director's board. Since Speed runs his own stream without a production team, this 32-key console acts as his control room."
🖥️ The PC Specs
The engine behind the chaos.
Speed recently upgraded to a custom-built PC designed by Matthew Beem. It moved away from his old messy tower to a high-end “Fish Tank” style build that sits proudly (and safely) on his desk.
- • Cores: 24 (8P + 16E)
- • Speed: Up to 6.0 GHz
- • Socket: LGA 1700
- • Graphics: Intel UHD 770 Integrated
For a creator like IShowSpeed, who combines competitive gaming with high-energy entertainment, the CPU is the most critical component. The **i9-14900K** is the engine room of his professional streaming setup.
With **24 cores (8 Performance + 16 Efficiency)**, it’s built to chew through heavy workloads. The Performance cores handle the game itself—pushing frame rates to the max—while the Efficiency cores handle background tasks like OBS streaming, Discord, and donation alerts. Also, Speed uses this **”K” variant** (which includes integrated graphics) rather than the “KF”. While he relies on his RTX 4090 for gaming, having the onboard Intel graphics provides a safety net for troubleshooting if his GPU ever fails mid-stream.
- • Memory: 24GB GDDR6X
- • Cooling: Vapor Chamber + Axial-tech Fans
- • Size: 3.5-Slot Design
- • Architecture: NVIDIA Ada Lovelace
The 4090 is simply a super fast GPU. At the time, it would have been the most powerful piece. But now you can pick up a newer 5090 GPU. That being said, he did have an upgraded GPU for his van setup. For a streamer who plays at high refresh rates, the 4090 still ensures his game looks buttery smooth even when thousands of people are watching.
The ROG Strix White OC Edition is a specific variant that boosts clock speeds even higher than the standard model and features a massive “vapor chamber” heatsink to prevent thermal throttling during marathon sessions. It is big, loud, and expensive, but for a creator who needs zero lag, it is the industry standard.
- • Type: Dual Chamber Mid-Tower
- • Glass: 3-Sided Panoramic Tempered Glass
- • Radiator Support: Up to 3x 360mm
- • Compatibility: Back-Connect Motherboards
The Lian Li O11 Vision Compact is the chassis IShowSpeed uses to show off his components. It is widely regarded as one of the best “aesthetic” cases because it removes the metal support pillar at the front-left corner, offering a completely unobstructed view of the interior.
It allows his RGB fans to be visible from every angle, giving that futuristic “glow” you see in the background of his face cam. He is showed with both the black and the white case in different streams. The black model had his name and logo sketched into the glass and was custom made.
Speed’s build takes advantage of the dual-chamber design, which hides the power supply and mess of cables in the back, leaving only the clean RGB components visible through the glass. Uniquely, this “Compact” version supports modern “Back-Connect” motherboards (where cable ports are on the back), allowing for a build that looks almost wireless.
Motherboard & RAM
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming WiFi
- RAM: 64GB G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB (DDR5)

The Centerpiece: Custom “Luffy” Hand Desk
The Gear: Custom Fabrication (One-of-a-Kind)
Unlike most streamers who buy an IKEA desk, Speed’s entire setup sits in the palm of a giant hand, specifically modeled after Luffy from One Piece. This custom build went viral for its “floating” design, though it makes cable management a nightmare. Since you can’t buy this desk, most fans replicate the vibe with a White L-Shaped Desk and heavy anime decor.
- • Material: SoftWeave Plus Fabric
- • Recline: 165°
- • Support: 4-Way L-Adapt Lumbar
- • Armrests: CloudSwap 4D Metal
If you look at his actual setup, you can clearly see the lightning bolt logo and some custom styling. He has the official DC “The Flash” edition chair. This model we’ve chosen is similar.
Most streamers choose this chair because of the “cold-cure foam” which is dense enough to hold its shape during 12-hour streams without sagging. While Speed uses the leatherette version for the glossy look, this SoftWeave model is generally considered better for long sessions because the fabric breathes, preventing you from getting sweaty.

Peripherals: The “Breakable” Gear
Speed is famous for smashing his gear. Because of this, he rarely uses $500 boutique keyboards. He sticks to reliable, durable gear that can be easily replaced.
The Monitor: HP Omen 27qs (240Hz)
Note on Availability: Speed actually uses the OMEN 27qs (240Hz) model, but I couldn’t find it available. I have linked the OMEN 27q (165Hz) below instead, it uses the exact same color-accurate panel and QHD resolution, just with a lower refresh rate cap. It’s a more affordable alternative if you can’t find the ‘qs’ in stock.
- • Resolution: QHD (2560 x 1440)
- • Refresh Rate: 165Hz
- • Panel: IPS
- • Response: 1ms GtG
Speed uses a monitor like the HP OMEN 27q because it hits the “Goldilocks” zone for streaming and gaming. At 27 inches and 1440p, the pixel density is high enough to make games look crisp without being as demanding as 4K, allowing his RTX 4090 to easily max out the 165Hz refresh rate. As we mentioned above, his model is actually running a 1440p setup at 240Hz, so slightly better Hz from the one we’re mentioning here. The OMEN 27qs would be the one to get if you want the same model.
But the 27q spec it still great for streamers and it’s more affordable, plus it covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Which means the colors he sees on screen (and what the audience sees captured) are vibrant and accurate, ensuring his high-energy stream looks as good as it feels to play.
The Headset: HyperX Cloud II Wireless
- Correction: While he used to use budget Nubwo headsets, his current setup features the industry-standard HyperX Cloud II Wireless. It’s durable enough to survive his streams and the wireless range allows him to do backflips without ripping the cord out.
- • Connection: 2.4GHz Wireless
- • Battery: Up to 30 Hours
- • Drivers: 53mm
- • Frame: Aluminum
This is arguably the most recognizable piece of gear in Speed’s setup. While he often breaks equipment during his streams, the HyperX Cloud II remains his go-to because it is built like a tank. He used to use budget Nubwo headsets, but I think because of how often he needed a replacement he needed a more durable option in the HyperX Cloud.
The wireless version is critical for his content. Unlike “sitting” streamers, Speed is constantly moving—doing backflips, barking at the camera, or running away from fireworks. The 2.4GHz connection provides a lag-free signal up to 20 meters, allowing him to leave his desk without losing audio. It uses the same 53mm drivers as the wired version, delivering the punchy, bass-heavy sound he prefers for immersive horror games.
The Mouse & Keyboard
- Mouse: SteelSeries Rival 3: This is a lightweight, no-nonsense mouse that tracks perfectly for shooters.
- Keyboard: SteelSeries Apex 3 RGB: A membrane keyboard that is water-resistant (proof against spilled drinks) and quiet enough not to ruin the stream audio.
- • Type: Condenser
- • Pattern: Cardioid
- • Connection: XLR
- • Max SPL: 142 dB
This is the microphone responsible for capturing IShowSpeed’s most viral moments. Unlike the Shure SM7B which requires a lot of gain, the LEWITT LCT 240 Pro is a condenser mic, meaning it is highly sensitive and captures every detail of his voice.
For a streamer like Speed, its key feature is the 142 dB Max SPL (Sound Pressure Level). Essentially, it’s built to record loud instruments like drums, which means it can technically handle his screaming fits better than most cheap microphones. Having said that, because it’s a condenser, it also picks up the sound of him jumping around the room, adding to the chaotic “live” feeling of his broadcasts.
- • Keys: 32 Customizable LCD Buttons
- • Connection: USB 3.0
- • Compatibility: Windows/macOS
- • Integration: OBS
- • Twitch
- • YouTube
- • Spotify
This device is the secret behind a top-tier livestream. The Stream Deck XL puts 32 programmable LCD buttons at Speed’s fingertips, effectively replacing the need for a production crew.
For IShowSpeed, this device allows him to instantly switch camera angles, trigger sound effects, start replays, or raid other streamers with a single press, keeping the broadcast seamless. It’s about comedic timing. When he instantly cuts to a close-up camera, plays a specific sound effect, or transitions to a “Please Stand By” screen during a rage moment, he is physically hitting a button on this deck. The XL version is crucial because standard 15-key decks run out of space quickly when you have as many memes and scene transitions as he does.
Should You Copy This Setup?
IShowSpeed’s setup is what you would expect from a high tier streamer/gamer who needs reliabilty and durability. He spends big where it counts but stays practical on the things he might break like the headsets and keyboard.
If you are a high-energy gamer who wants a setup that’s durable and still performs at the pro level, this is the build to copy.
